Influenza

Well, the flu has officially hit the Cordova household! Poor little Jaden. The funny thing is you wouldn't even know he had anything wrong. He is definitely not one to let something like the flu get him down!! It started with an extra runny nose and a little cough, which concerned me (not to mention the fact that I had sent three students home with high fevers that day)! So Sam took him to the doctor and they ran a flu test, determining that he had Influenza type A, which H1N1 is a subtype of. So instead of sending the swab test for further testing, the doctor opted to treat him as if he had the swine flu and advised us to keep him away from others for five days. And how you do that with a 2 1/2 year old, I'm not quite sure, but we did our best. Poor Elijah was probably put down for ten naps that day just to keep him away from his loving, snuggling, hugging, sneezing, coughing, "I'm not sick" insisting brother! Sam was sent out to get soap, Clorox, hand sanitizer, tissues, face masks, Lysol spray, juice, Tylenol, probiotics, vitamins...anything relevant and potentially helpful to the cause! And every single toy and room in the house was disinfected, sanitized, and disinfected again! We had to bribe Jaden to watch Imagination Movers all day long so that he wouldn't re-infect any of the toys already cleaned in his playroom! And lucky guy, even got "feel better" gifts from Nana and Papa - so sweet. All the while, insisting, "But I'm not sick!"
